Primary sarcomas of the larynx: A report of three cases and literature review

Introduction. Primary sarcomas are uncommonly seen in the larynx and comprise around 1% of all laryngeal malignant tumors. We present three cases patients with different types discuss about diagnostic treatment difficulties. Case outline. Each patient presented hoarseness shortness breath. Computed tomography scans showed large transglottic tumors no signs cervical lymphadenopathy definitive diagnoses were made by pathologists. underwent total laryngectomy clear resection margins. Patient leiomyosarcoma developed locoregional relapse disease pulmonary metastasis four months after surgery osteosarcoma was diagnosed inoperative surgery. Both died within six On other hand, chondrosarcoma disease-free during three-year follow-up. Conclusion. have low incidence they differ from squamous cell carcinoma their biological characteristics behavior. Radical surgical remains mainstay uncertain outcome due to high potential for recurrence or metastatic spread.
